Thompson Cemetery, Near Dardanelle, Yell County, Arkansas

Copied and updated 30 June 1992 by Cornelia Daniels and Rebecca Phillips Wilson. This cemetery is about three miles south of Dardanelle on Hwy 7 behind the Gleason home. Thompson Cemetery was once owned by Mrs. Thompson, and her daughter, an heir, Mary Carter Crow, sold it for $8.60 for the sole use and purpose of the dead. The deed reads: A tract of land East half, southwest 1/2 Section 29, Township, 6 range 20 west, running south 195 2/3 yards to the corner of yards as placed beginning and thence south 80 yards, thence west 55 yards, thence north 80 yards beginning and containing one (1) acre more are less, near Gibson Lake.
